Noteworthy Positive Characteristics:
- Dedicated/committed: Cremisius has proved his commitment to a number of things, from his family to the military to the Chargers. His dedication is not only to the people and social structures that define his life, but also to his commitment to self. Tevinter culture is deeply structured and patriarchal, and Krem’s existence as a trans man challenges the norm; his dedication to self drove him away from the prospect of marriage, out of the military, and into the equal commitment and support of the Chargers.
- Loyal: As second-in-command of the Chargers, Krem is in a unique position to hold the mercenary corps together. His trust and commitment to the Iron Bull stems in part from owing the Qunari a life debt; when they first met, and the Iron Bull saved his life, Krem could have left and continued his venture south to try and find some peace. Instead, he lets himself be taken in by the man that saved his life, and he continues to put his life on the line as a mercenary and lieutenant.
- Passionate: Cremisius cares deeply for others and wants the best for the downtrodden, having lived a life on the edge of slavery in Tevinter, and coming from a background where his very existence was questionable at best. He supports the Inquisition and drives the Chargers toward that decision because it’s “good fights for a good cause,” and he supports and advocates for the men and women that work under the Iron Bull, hearing their complaints and concerns while supporting the structure of the corps.
Noteworthy Negative Characteristics:
- Sarcastic: Krem’s sense of humor, both towards himself and others, tends to be on the cynical, self-deprecating side, and he leans into a line of humor that can barely be called humor. He and the Iron Bull, especially, give each other grief constantly, from the Iron Bull’s teasing nicknames to Krem teasing Bull about his lack of shirts. One of the best examples of this is shortly after they’ve both been introduced: the Iron Bull says he doesn’t want any of the Tevene soldiers they’ve just killed to actually have managed to survive, calling them bastards; Krem says “At least a bastard knows who his mother is” – a jab at Qunari social structures.
- Questioning of Authority: After a life on the edge of slavery, Cremisius has a certain disregard to those that would attempt to exert authority over him. While he respects the Iron Bull’s innate authority, he often questions him, voices the questions and complaints from the other corpsmen in the Chargers, and pushes back against ideas and plans. As a soldier, he did not have the ability to push back in these ways, but his enlistment was, in and of itself, a question of Tevinter authority and the control of feminine-presenting bodies.
- Naïve: Because of his idealism and passion, Krem can often be viewed as naïve. He’s fairly young as well, and though he’s seen and experienced many things that have hardened and strengthened his personality, that youth contributes to his naivete.
- Slack-off: Though he is a good soldier and mercenary, Cremisius would rather avoid training and hard work if at all possible. He indulges in drink and skivs off work as much as he can. Whether it’s bemoaning having to back up from the Storm Coast when the Chargers are first recruited into the Inquisition or complaining that he doesn’t need to train for shield bashes with the Iron Bull, Krem would rather be relaxing and having a laugh with his friends, these people that have become his family.
